The Honda Britain RC45 that Phillip McCallen raced to Formula 1 and Senior TT victories in 1997 remains one of the most remarkable motorcycles in Isle of Man TT history.
Still owned by Phillip and preserved in its original condition, the motorcycle rarely appears in public. Ahead of the Classic TT, he sits down with Tom Birchall to share the story behind the machine, from its challenging early development to the role it played during one of the defining periods of his TT career.
Phillip reflects on the memories attached to the RC45, the mindset that defined his career and what it means to return to the Mountain Course aboard a motorcycle that has remained such an important part of his TT story for almost 30 years.
