TT Rewind - 2007
The Centenary TT of 2007 proved to be a truly spectacular event. There was plenty for the record-breaking crowd to savour away from the Mountain Course – not least the wall-to-wall sunshine – but the action on track was hotter still.
John McGuinness delivered another masterclass, securing a dominant one-two punch in the Superbike and Senior TTs, cruising to victory in the former and storming to an emphatic win in the latter. The 'Morecambe Missile' ended the fortnight just one TT victory shy of Mike Hailwood’s tally of 14, while also making history as the first man to lap the Mountain Course at over 130mph – a milestone once thought impossible by special guest Murray Walker.
Elsewhere fans were treated to one of the most thrilling TT races ever staged, with a record-breaking Supersport contest fiercely contested between four modern greats. Bruce Anstey continued his superb run of form in the Superstock race, while Dave Molyneux reclaimed the Sidecar crown from his local rival Nick Crowe.
