This stunning 2016 Senior TT Race provided an epic finale for fans, as Michael Dunlop and Ian Hutchinson battled it out to take the win, with one taking a lap record of 133.962mph on his way to his 13th TT victory.
Hutchinson who already had several wins that week wanted to finish on a high note, but Dunlop was determined to take home a second win after his amazing victory in the earlier Superbike event.
Dunlop initially established a healthy lead over Hutchinson, but as the race pressed on, the latter was intent on reducing the margin. The leader board places behind the pair were constantly changing – with Dean Harrison, Gary Johnson, Peter Hickman, and Bruce Anstey interchanging in fourth place. By lap three it had all changed again, with John McGuinness moving from ninth to an incredible third after overhauling Anstey.
As the race drew to a close, Dunlop still didn’t have full control, the gap between him and Hutchinson just seconds – making for a nail-biting finale to a breath-taking 2016 Isle of Man TT Races.
