TT Rewind - McGuinness 30 Years on the Mountain

John McGuinness and his Mugen Shinden machine were number one on the road as they swept through the opening stages of this 2014 TT Zero electric bike race. He was only several seconds clear of his Mugen teammate Bruce Anstey though, with Robert Wilson (Sarolea) a minute adrift in third.
As the one-lap race progressed, McGuinness and Anstey were battling it out at the front, with Wilson now contending with 2009 winner Rob Barber on the Ohio State University Buckeye machine.
In the final few minutes of this thrilling race, Barber who’d overhauled Wilson for third, was a staggering two and a half minutes behind the leading pair. The subsequent victor lapping at a brilliant 117mph; a new lap record and the first official TT Zero Race under 20 minutes.
