This three-lap Sidecar Race was a day of ‘firsts’ for many riders, with the winner clinching his 14th TT race win.
The race saw Manxman Dave Molyneux and his partner Daniel Sayle, compete for the winner’s podium against keen pace setters Phil Dongworth and Gary Partridge, with the final winners cruising home to take the win by 53 seconds.
Other strong pairings included Nick Crowe and Mark Cox, as well as Simon Neary and Stuart Bond who stepped onto the TT podium for the first time.
There was drama throughout the race, with the dice for third up for grabs amongst Neary/Bond, Tim Reeves and Patrick Farrance and Klaus Klaffenbock and Darren Hope – all locked in a nail-biting battle for third during the latter half of the race.
Dongworth achieved his personal best lap ever at 114.055mph - a just reward after years of competing in the sport. For passenger Partridge, this was also a particularly special race, as he had almost quit in the practice week prior.
