Manxman, Dave Molyneux made a triumphant return to the Isle of Man TT Sidecar Races in 2012, alongside partner, Patrick Farrance. Brother duo, Ben, and Tom Birchall also put in a great performance, alongside Conrad Harrison and Mike Aylott who remained in the top three for most of the race.
Molyneux and Farrance got off to a flying start, fighting off stiff competition from pros Tim Reeves and Dan Sayle for the majority, until the latter’s hopes of first TT win were dashed after an early retirement.
The Manx/British pairing Molyneux and Farrance, remained in pole throughout, gaining a 30 second advantage as they went into the final 37.73 miles, followed by the Birchall brothers who were giving it their all.
This race became the winner’s 15th TT win, and his partner’s first – a real victory all round. The Birchall’s persistence also paid off, as they recorded their first ever TT podium. Several other riders also completed their highest finishes, including father and son team, Gary and Dan Knight.
