After his Superbike win earlier that week, Michael Dunlop was determined to make it a double in this Superstock Race of the 2014 Isle of Man TT. He faced stiff competition from Supersport 1 Race winner Gary Johnson, youngster Dean Harrison and well-established player Bruce Anstey.

The race got off to a formidable start, with only 0.5 seconds covering the top four riders including Dunlop, Harrison, Johnson, and James Hillier. However, this soon changed when one rider’s challenge ended abruptly following an accident.

As the riders flashed through the next few laps, Dunlop continued to increase his advantage, but Harrison was determined to hold on to second, with Anstey in third – margins constantly decreasing as the racers battled nose to tail.

The final winner duly came home for his third win in the Superstock class, and his ninth TT victory. Harrison equalled his best ever result in second. Australian, David Johnson, also put in a phenomenal ride, coming in fourth – his greatest TT result to that date.
