Mugen rider John McGuinness was first away in this 2015 TT Zero Race, closely followed by teammate Bruce Anstey. The pair swapped the lead position several times, with Lee Johnston and his Victory Parker Racing teammate Guy Martin duelling for the final podium spot.
At the halfway point, McGuinness had moved to the fore once again, he and Anstey establishing a healthy lead at the front of the field, while Johnston and Martin were locked in a battle for third.
In the final few miles, McGuinness was being made to work for the race win by Anstey, with the gap between the Mugen duo closing to less than three seconds – the subsequent victor taking the win by just a couple of seconds with a new lap record of 119mph+.
Other great performances included Michael Sweeney who completed the top five, taking the university honours for the University of Nottingham.
