Mansfield brothers, Ben and Tom Birchall, broke their own lap record in every lap of this incredible opening Sidecar Race at the 2018 Isle of Man TT Races.
Claiming an astonishing 118mph+ lap record, the brothers worked hard in this quick-firing race and were locked in a titanic battle with long-standing collaboration John Holden and Manx partner Lee Cain for the entire run.
Tim Reeves and Mark Wilkes also put in a great performance, holding onto third for the majority.
After a pre-race favourite retirement, the Birchalls pressed on at a sensational pace as they continued their duel with Holden/Cain – the only other crew to lap in excess of 117mph. On the third and final lap the winning pair crossed the line for their seventh TT win – and fourth sidecar victory in a row.
Another incredible performance came from Alan Founds and Jake Lowther who after a troublesome pit stop went from 21st to finish in sixth!
