2013 Supersport TT Race 2
25m
This stunning climax to the Supersport series of the 2013 Isle of Man TT races was one for the history books, with several strong contenders in play for the winner’s podium. Michael Dunlop, Bruce Anstey, and John McGuinness battled nose to tail for most of this dramatic race.
Anstey was quickest out of the traps, but pre-race favourite, Michael Dunlop and brother, William were in close contention in second and third. Other fast starters included James Hillier and Dean Harrison.
On the second 37 and ¾ miles, Michael and Anstey were at the head of the field, the duo practically matching each other with Anstey a fraction of a second in front - treating fans to a high-octane performance of racing. The battle for third was also on between McGuinness and William, with just seconds between them and less than two laps to go.
Michael and Anstey gave the rides of their lives, all the way to the chequered flag, the margin a mere 2.3 seconds as the flag fell. History was written as the winner claimed his fourth race win that week – the third rider in the Isle of Man TT Races history.
