2014 Supersport TT Race 1

Gary Johnson and Bruce Anstey battled it out for first place in this nail-biting first Monster Energy Supersport Race of the 2014 Isle of Man TT Races.
Johnson and Anstey switched positions several times throughout the race, with fractions of seconds splitting them, making it impossible to tell who was going to take the winner’s podium until the very last lap.
Johnson and his Smiths Triumph grabbed the initial lead, with just 0.009 seconds separating him and Anstey. By lap two, Anstey was in the lead albeit by less than a second. Following his win in the Superbike Race earlier that week, Michael Dunlop was putting in a good third, with Dean Harrison, Conor Cummins, and Guy Martin in close contention.
As the race drew to a close, Johnson was back in front, but Anstey was on a charge – and the two could barely be separated. The eventual winner came clear of his rival by just 1.5 seconds! Making it his second ever TT win.
