2019 Sidecar TT Race 2

The winning pair of the second Sidecar Race at the 2019 Isle of Man TT Races took home their tenth TT win in what was a dramatic race from start to finish.
The two-lap race got off to a quick start as the Birchall brothers Ben and Tom led by just one second over rivals John Holden and Lee Cain, who had lost out on the earlier Sidecar race winner’s podium.
Alan Founds and Jake Lowther were in a strong third but retired shortly after. This allowed Alan’s brother Pete Founds and partner Jevan Walmsley to slot into the third – albeit over 14+ seconds adrift of Holden/Cain who were keeping pace with the unstoppable Birchalls who remained at the head of the field.
The Birchalls and Holden/Cain battled it out right up until the chequered flag, with the winners taking home their second victory of the week.
Other commendable performances included Estelle Leblond/Franck Claeys finishing in a fine sixth place after another 110mph+ lap for the French female driver.
