2022 Supersport TT Race 1
37m
This nail-biting three lap Monster Energy Supersport TT Race saw the victor take home his 20th win at the Isle of Man TT Races, with a new lap record of 129.475mph.
Michael Dunlop and Dean Harrison were frontrunners for the majority of this exhilarating Supersport Race – the gap between the two being a mere tenth of a second at one point!
The race kicked off with Dunlop at the front, closely followed by Lee Johnston and Harrison just a tenth of a second behind him. Their podium places were far from secure though, with 2022 Superbike winner Peter Hickman, James Hiller, and Conor Cummins in hot pursuit as less than ten seconds covered the top ten.
Towards the end of lap one Harrison had jumped up to second, initiating a game of cat and mouse with Dunlop – only fractions of seconds separating the pair for the remainder of the race. Meanwhile the battle for third was even tighter, with Hickman and Hillier having overthrown Johnston.
A thrilling final lap saw the winner clinch his 20th TT win by just 5 seconds!
