Several changing leader board positions made for a thrilling Senior Race to conclude the 2014 Isle of Man TT Races.
BMW Motorrad rider Michael Dunlop was down in seventh position, but steadily moved through the leaders in the opening lap, which saw his brother William take the initial lead. Manxman Conor Cummins, and Guy Martin also put in sterling performances in second and third.
By the end of lap one Michael had managed to edge his way to the front of the pack, but with Martin, Cummins, William, and Dean Harrison in hot pursuit – just 3 seconds covering the top 5!
Michael went on to set a new lap record for the Senior, the rider and his BMW really making their mark. However, a crash shortly followed, which saw one of the leaders dramatically exit the race.
On the penultimate lap, just seconds separated the race leader and the second placed rider, making for an epic finale which saw the winner sweep to his 11th win and fourth victory that week.
Other sensational performances included newcomer Peter Hickman, who not only took 11th place, but set the fastest ever lap by a first timer on the Mountain Course.
