The winning rider became the second man to ever win four TT Races in a week, when he clinched a thrilling second Monster Energy Supersport Race by just 1.45 seconds - the fourth race that week which came down to just a handful of seconds.
The Island was bathed in beautiful sunshine as the high-speed excitement commenced. Ian Hutchinson showed his intent right from the start, leading the pack which included Guy Martin, Michael Dunlop, John McGuinness, and Ryan Farquhar. As with the Superstock Race several days earlier, only 4.5 seconds separated the top 10 at the first timing point.
Hutchinson’s short circuit prowess really came out to play by the second lap, where he was closely followed by Dunlop in second and Martin in third. Local hero, Conor Cummins, had fought his way up to fifth.
Towards the latter half of the race, Dunlop was right on Hutchinson’s tail, proving the stronger on the twists and turns to Ramsey. Using this advantage, Dunlop overtook and led for the first time in the final lap, making for another incredible finale in a week full of electrifying races.
This was also another record-breaking race, which saw Hutchinson smash Amor’s three-day-old lap record at 127.611mph. However, it was only to be broken seconds later by Dunlop with 127.836mph!
