Michael Dunlop, John McGuinness, and Guy Martin rocketed through this four-lap Superstock Race to compete for the number one spot.
McGuinness kicked off proceedings, putting in his trademark rapid first nine miles, as he led Martin by just 0.2 seconds, with Dunlop another half a second behind. It was that close that there was only one second between the top four with Gary Johnson in fourth.
As the race progressed, Dunlop, Martin and McGuinness continued to vie for pole position, constantly switching positions. As they edged away from the rest of the field, Dunlop came into his own, extending his lead from 3.5 seconds to 13 by the second lap.
Other great performances included Michael’s brother, William Dunlop, and Manxman, Dan Kneen, who treated fans across the course to a terrific spectacle as they lapped wheel to wheel. Newcomer, Simon Andrews also put in a brilliant ride, finishing in an amazing 11th place.
The eventual winner had a strong margin of 18.63 seconds – his second ever TT win.
