William Dunlop led the opening lap in the first of the Monster Energy Supersport Races at the 2013 Isle of Man TT. He was closely followed by New Zealander Bruce Anstey, and his brother Michael. It was tight all the way down the leader board, with less than four seconds covering the top ten in the first circuit.
Michael shortly went on to turn his deficit into a lead, overcoming his brother and Anstey. Strong competition included John McGuiness, Cameron Donald, Guy Martin, and a flying Dean Harrison.
It soon became a battle between Michael and Anstey, the pair riding closely together on the road, a thrilling sight to behold for thousands of fans lining the course.
The fight continued all the way to the finishing line, with the winner taking his fifth TT victory and his second win of the 2013 races. It was also the first time the two Dunlop siblings ever shared a TT rostrum.
