This was a high-adrenaline Superstock Race, which saw the long-time race leader pipped to the post on the very last lap.
It was the Kawasakis of Gary Johnson and James Hillier that led in the early stages, but Michael Dunlop, who had already secured two podiums that week, put in a superb performance alongside John McGuinness, Guy Martin, and flying youngster Dean Harrison.
It soon became a two man show with Johnson continuing to lead against man of the week, Dunlop. By the third lap, Johnson was displaying his Mountain Course prowess, but shortly afterwards Dunlop hit the front for the first time – making for a nail-biting finale.
The high-octane race was the winner’s third win of the 2013 Isle of Man TT Races making it a hat-trick, and his sixth overall TT win. Setting a scorching pace throughout he also knocked out a stunning new lap record of 131.220mph. McGuinness also took home his 38th TT podium, with Harrison claiming an excellent fourth, his highest placement to date.
