Michael Dunlop shined throughout this second Supersport Race which took place on 6th June 2012.
It was his brother, William, on his Wilson Craig Honda that led proceedings, closely followed by Michael, Cameron Donald, and a fast-starting James Hillier. John McGuinness, who had already secured two TT wins that week, hovered between fourth and fifth position.
Exciting youngsters Dan Cooper and Dean Harrison showcased their raw talent throughout the race, as did Bruce Anstey who had won the first Supersport Race earlier that week.
After a sudden retirement from William, it was now on Michael’s shoulders to take it home for the Dunlops, continuing to battle against Donald for first place – with the final winner securing his second ever Supersport win, and third TT winner’s podium. Anstey and Ryan Farquhar wrestled it out for third all the way to the chequered flag, with the latter securing the final podium spot by just 0.01 seconds!
