The winner of this Monster Energy Supersport Race equalled the late, great Mike Hailwood’s tally of 14 TT wins, as he continued to dominate the 2016 Isle of Man TT Races.
It was the rider’s third 2016 winner’s podium and his fourth Supersport win in a row - following his double victory in the class the previous year.
As the race commenced, it was an incredibly tight lead with Ian Hutchinson in pole and Michael Dunlop just six tenths of a second behind. The race continued in this vein, with Dunlop eager to overcome his arch-rival.
As the race progressed, Hutchinson continued to exert his control, but Dunlop pointed down to his machine as he flashed through every lap. Dean Harrison maintained a strong third throughout the race but had Bruce Anstey and James Hillier right on his back – both keen to steal the last podium place.
As the unassailable winner flashed passed the chequered flag, he sealed his 14th TT win and a race for the history books.
