Morecambe man, John McGuiness blasted away on his Padgetts Honda in this 2012 Isle of Man Superstock Race. With many riders looking to make their mark, he fought off tough competition from Michael Dunlop, his fellow countryman, Ryan Farquhar, Guy Martin, and James Hillier
This race was tight throughout, and for the first half, was a clear fight between McGuinness and Farquhar, with Dunlop down in eighth on the first lap.
Dunlop was eager to take his first victory of 2012 though and powered through in to the top three by the latter half of the race, with the battle for second between him, Farquhar, and New Zealander Bruce Anstey.
Fuel problems and oil leaks changed the leader board several times, but saw the ultimate winner take home his 19th TT winners’ podium, edging closer to Joey Dunlop’s outright record. It also saw Dunlop get his first podium of the week.
